Since 1962 the Legion Athletic Camp, located in the International Peace Garden straddled on the Manitoba/North Dakota border, has been a leader in the development of amateur sports. Over the years the Legion Athletic Camp has hosted and played a key role in promoting numerous sports and at present offers 12 sports during July-August. The camp has grown and developed into one of North America's top athletic camps for school-aged children and is operated by some of the finest coaches anywhere. More than 34,000 athletes have attended the program which was also one of the first organizations to offer co-ed programs and have females in head coaching positions.
