The core of the book is a gazetteer of all Royal Arms known to exist. Each entry provides details of the set, such as its date and design, and a colour picture. This is probably the first time the complete corpus of Arms has been illustrated for this or any county in England.

An additional chapter details ringers boards found in church towers in Cornwall. These amusing examples of local art have never before been illustrated.

C B Newham is a photographer and author. He is currently documenting the parish churches of England.

Rosemary Pardoe is an editor, publisher and writer. In the 1970s and '80s she was responsible for a number of booklets and articles on Royal Arms in Churches.

Included are examples of everything from castles to churches, monuments to windmills, the well-known to the obscure. Many of the photographs are shown full page and there are several double-page spreads.
