Store Description
ADVANCE PRAISE FOR DENIM & DIAMONDS: "Elle Robb combines natural dialogue, fun characters and evocative imagery in this city-girl-goes-country tale. I enjoyed learning more about ranch life, and could easily put myself in heroine Beth's shoes as she falls in love with the Domino Ranch and a certain, sexy foreman. If you've ever dreamed of starting fresh -- moving from city to country or from single to not -- you'll appreciate Ms. Robb's Denim and Diamonds!" Kaitlyn Rice--author of The Runaway Bridesmaid and The Third Daughter's Wish, and "Denim & Diamonds is a delightful, romantic and fun romp. Beth is endearing in her bumbling attempts to run her deceased father's horse ranch. Beau is strong and mysterious as the foreman. I had to read on to see just how bad things would get before they acknowledged their feelings for each other. I read it in three sittings. Big kudos for Elle Robb's first novel!" Cindy Davis--author of Voice from the Ashes.

As many of you know, I am proud to be a member of the Callaway County Writers Group. We recently published our first anthology (the group published an anthology years ago . . . this is the first in recent history, with the current makeup of the group). Take a look for "Bridges" (search "Callaway County" in Lulu and we show up pretty quick!) and if you like a wide variety of writing, check us out. We will be doing a book signing in Fulton, Missouri, on the third Saturday in August.

Happy reading,
Elle

If any of you are in the mid-Missouri area, watch channel 8 (KOMU) today! My daughter and I were interviewed for a segment. I'm a little nervous about it, but am excited, too.

For those of you not in the area, check out the website, www.komu.com.

Happy reading,

The story of Denim & Diamonds

Hello, Reader! Thanks for stopping by. Just wanted to give you a quick update. The preview copy of Denim & Diamonds is on its way to me as we speak. I am very anxious to see it, and look forward to publishing it for public viewing.

I've had a couple of questions recently about my decision to publish this novel using LULU and I thought I would share my thoughts. Denim & Diamonds was drafted during National Novel Writing Month 2004. That was my first attempt at NaNoWriMo, and I did it by the seat of my pants. The experience was wonderful, and I was thrilled to be a winner. At the time, I was working on Tangled Innocence, which is a murder-mystery set in Missouri, and was blocked. I wrote Denim & Diamonds, a romance, as a way to break that block. Romance isn't my genre of choice, and I don't want to go to the time to find an agent, and then find a publisher, for a stand-alone book in a genre I am not actively writing in. At a writing conference last year, I spoke with two authors who have self-published, and a friend in my writing group self-published her NaNo novel. I decided to give it a try - this book is good, even if it isn't the Great American Novel I hope to write someday.

I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Thanks, and happy reading!
