Air Water Fire and Earth
Air, Water, Fire and Earth is an ancient 1985 song made to feature a homebuilt voice synthesizer. The drum machine sounds retro, but it's what most drum machines actually sounded like back then. Other synth sounds were from a tiny portable keyboard and a homebuilt sound FX synthesizer. Originally recorded on reel-to-reel multitrack, this song was digitally remastered.

The Beer Song
This song explores the use of a vocoder as the lead instrument. A stacatto moog bass and funky clav underlies it all. It is propelled by a traditional drum machine sound enhanced with bricks and clock tick samples.

Blaze
After a short break, a round of brews and some guy talk, the three of them got back in the studio and started to improvise a more upbeat tune. Rich laid down a rock beat and Kevin set a groove with the bass that's sure to get you moving. Then, Mark stomped on the fuzz pedal and ripped out an amazing, blazing lead as easily as you tie your shoelaces. This tune proves that Mark is a creative master of the guitar solo. -- Song Length 5:33 -- 192KBps MP3

Breakin' Away from Sanity
Kim Carnes originally wrote and recorded this song. Then I got the chance to embarass myself with it, so I did. It's a mellow synth-piano and vocal song, played on a Korg DW-6000. -- Song Length 2:59 -- 160KBps MP3

Crusin'
This is a relatively high energy ear-candy song. It wants to be adapted into a TV-show theme song.
The complex but not too chaotic percussion patterns were derrived from homemade software that used drummer-like rules to display drum patterns. The interesting patterns were printed out and programmed into a sequencer/sampler. The groovier ones were assembled into this wildly percussive song, and filled out with plenty of synth tracks. This is the last song my trusty old DX7-II played before it self-destructed.

Dazzling Star
Dazzling Star gets it's name from the "sparkly" sounding arpeggiating sequencer that drives the rhythm in this song, combined with other bright sounding tones. There's plenty of old-fashoned ear candy here, but only a little bit of melody.
This is a digitally remastered song from the 80's.

Dumpy Onions
Dumpy Onions is another rock child of the live "Tape Heads Jam". This tune showcases John Hammond on guitar and Kevin Bolshaw on bass. John experiments with some drawn out slide licks that add much excitement to this number. Rich plays an unusual snare sound to add a different flavor to the rhythm. It seems to work for him, because as the tune goes on, his drumming evolves into a swirling cloud of tom hits and cymbals. Kevin's bass keeps the group together and gets the three of them really in the "zone". -- Song Length 6:48 -- 192KBps MP3

E Octave Jam
One of the best improvised rock songs to come out of the live "Tape Heads Jam Session" on a beautiful spring day in May of 1992. Kevin Bolshaw, John Hammond and drummer Rich
DeAngelis were the musicians, but it's not certain who played guitar or bass on this particular tune. It doesn't really matter though, since both players combined to produce a great piece of jam. Rich later added the flute and Hammond organ to add a little more meat to this song. -- Song Length 7:42 -- 192KBps MP3

Escape
Escape is a moderate tempo song about a tortured soul needing to escape the lonesome blues from missing a girl etc. This song uses lush synthesizer pad sounds to texture the song, but avoids sounding sci-fi electronic. The attitude may be down but it sounds like there's light at the end of the tunnel.
