Does anyone have an opinion on changing the names of bases?

Do any of you have an opinion one way or another on changing the names or pronunciations on bases in your books? I can't tell you the number of times I've heard a character in a movie say they were flying to Ramsteen. There are dozens of other examples in the culture today.

When you write, do you make up names for real bases to hide them?
