Fellow "Pros",
We are all here to present our stories and knowledge to the world. I am new here and would love to here how others have been doing since they joined lulu and this group; tips and such for the 'newbie' would be very welcome.
So far, I have got my book up on the site, generally available, and just purchased the "published by Lulu" service, mainly because I am in Canada and I wanted an ISBN.
Any suggestions on what to do next?

David, I'm also new to Lulu. I wrote and published a book because everyone, including colleague physicians, told me I had to do it. It's a story that needs to get out there. But here I am a couple of thousand dollars later with no book sales. Interestingly enough, everyone who knows me wants a copy, but wants it free. It would be nice to recoup just the cost I put into it.
Anyway, the story is important and I suppose most of us need marketing whizzes taking care of us. Have you had any luck since u first posted? |

Write a press release and email it to Book Editors at newspapers. My book, "Top Gun Management," is complementary about a hospital in Duluth, MN. The Duluth paper ran my press release as did many other papers.
Have a book signing. Offer the bookseller 25% from your book sales. You will have better luck with independent book stores..
Join groups at facebook and MySpace and promote your books there. Take advantage of all the free promotion you can get.
Ask local book stores if you can place your book there on consignment.
Advertise on Craigs List.
Make sure to include a link to your book. You get more royalty from Lulu than Amazon so I would link to Lulu.
Good luck |

Hi,
I just joined and put my book up on Lulu, which is an entrepreneurial guide for health and wellness practitioners. I like all the suggestions (have done them myself) but I am a big fan of networking. How about we talk more about where we are, what we do, and try to help each other. If there are books that will help my audience, then I would love to pass along the information.
