I'm not new to lulu. I have a few books published through it. Up until now I haven't had much trouble with the pdf make ready file (it looks just like my original uploaded file). However my recent file for my book's revision is different from the one I uploaded (i.e. the pdf make-ready file has several blank pages BETWEEN written ones--between title pages and chapters---particularly chapters ten and eleven that isn't on my original file.
What is going on?
Elaine
P.S. How many months do I wait for a response? I really miss the live chat. E-mail support is only a form letter directing us to FAQ or this forum. Sad really because overall lulu is the best of the online publishers.

Elaine,

That is usually caused by a couple things related to the original document's formatting. These can include:

1) Using the enter key to get to new pages between chapters instead of a page break command.
2) Having a page size different than the selected printed book size
3) If you are using section breaks within Word, then having the section break set to always be on an odd page when the previous section ended on an odd page. You can see this on the page setup dialog - it is also visible by looking at the page number in the Word toolbar as you go from page to page - it will skip from 9 to 11 for example.

Hope that helps. If not, please give more information and we can try to assist you.

Elmore

Trust me, I am living proof of an example of the importance of page breaks. The best rule ever:

Leave the enter key be.

Page breaks are good.

The sad thing is, I should've remembered this rule from years ago.
