The font that best expresses my title and artwork is Comic Sans, which is not on LULU's font list. Can I use it for the cover?

Since covers are generally designed in your graphics program and uploaded as images, you can use any font you like for the cover. Actually, for any images inside your book, too.

IMPORTANT: if you're building your cover in Photoshop, MAKE SURE YOU RASTERIZE THE TYPE. If you dont, Lulu will substitute unavailable fonts with something like Courier.

Actually, Sean, my experience says that one should flatten the layers anyway, and that will result in rasterized fonts. _________________ Need Help? | Power Poster Tips |

True. I automatically rasterize so I can take advantage of the layer stylings menu. I forget that it does it automatically when you flatten.

I would avoid Comic Sans. It's not a well-repsected font in the design world and not one that you would see on a traditionally published book. It's a pretty good indicator to anyone in the biz (reviewers, bookstores, etc.) that the book has been self-published. Not sure if this is relevant to your project, or not, but just so you know.

I don't understand why it's shunned. Noever heard this. The art is from France, circa 1920. Comic Sans fits, like pulp fiction atwork.
