Heirloom Histories was actually "born" several decades ago. As I entered adulthood, I realized I had a special place in my heart for the older folks around me. Every place I lived, I had elderly neighbors who became good friends. I was intensely interested in hearing their stories.

As the years went by, I "collected" a lot of Grandma's and Grandpa's this way. When I moved, I wrote letters often, and we all kept in touch. I wrote until the letters stopped coming. Very frequently, I would think, "How sad I've not written these stories down..."

A reader in my newsletter at Waybilltoadventure.com had, over the years as a member of my site, become a good friend. He began to talk of his mother in Flagstaff, Arizona, who was interested in creating/writing her life's story in book format. The journey began.

I invite you to post your ideas, your dreams, and the ways you have begun to preserve your family's story. I would like to see my Blog become a meeting place for those who are interested in seeing HISTORY really come alive.

Welcome!

Leanne Boyd
