Fundamentals of Chemistry and Technical Science are required texts for two courses at SWTC. These courses are offered both traditionally and online. The texts would also be valuable to anyone interested in exploring general science concepts including high school, community or technical college, and home school students or teachers. In addition, the texts are supplemented with extensive interactive tutorials that are available for free from the Math Science Resource Center. http://www.swtc.edu:8082/mscenter/tutorial.htm If you have any questions regarding the texts, please let me know. Technical Science
This book is designed to introduce students to basic physical science concepts. In Unit 1, students make and convert measurements, design tables and graphs, create models, and use the scientific method. In Unit 2, students interpret a model of the atom and use the periodic table. They distinguish types of chemical bonds and identify properties of common compounds. In Unit 3, students determine the effect of force on linear motion, analyze various physical phenomena, and analyze the various forms of energy.
