Lou Grantt
I bid you welcome to my storefront. Over the months and years to come, I hope to share much of my writing with you, both fiction and non-fiction.
My background is in the entertainment industry. I spent a dozen years in and around Hollywood as a script consultant. I worked to improve the screenplays of novices and professional screenwriters alike. For six years, I was also publisher and editor of the industry's only trade paper entirely dedicated to screenwriting, Hollywood Scriptwriter, giving me a unique perspective on the art, craft and marketing of scripts to television and film.
Please feel free to email me with comments at any time. Thank you for visiting! - Lou

At The Lake
Set amidst the turbulent times of the late sixties, this beautifully honest novel brings the period to life - from the clothing and music of the day to the controversies and personal choices surrounding the country's involvement in Viet Nam. Virginia McNally must choose the path her life will take - a path that leads to love with one of the two men who pursue her, or the path to her truest love, classical music. And both paths tarry for a while in a little resort town called Greenwood Lake, where Virginia and her friends escape the realities of unhappy lives by overindulging in the proverbial sex, drugs and rock & roll.
"Lou Grantt writes of love and loss with humor, wit, and charm. Her characters populate a landscape so rich with details of time and place that the reader is captured by every page. Historical (1960s) fiction, romance, coming of age--this book delivers and satisfies."
- Dr. Cyd Ropp, Professor of Speech Communications, College of the Siskiyous.

The Bumpy Road To Buying And Building Our Manufactured Home
Building this house was the biggest project of our lives. I kept a blog through most of it and many who read it suggested that I make it into a book. This is not a how-to book (although perhaps at times a how-not-to book.) This chronicles our unique experiences in this adventure. It also includes a few blog entries from our personal lives, to flesh out the journey a bit. It's a fun story, actually, with over 50 full color photos. Enjoy.
