I got my copy of the black and white version of the Meads of Mead Street Family Histories and it looks great. It is not as nice as the color version. The paper is lighter and the book as a whole is lighter, but the pictures look fine in black and white and of course the text is just as readable. So if you want a copy of the book, but don't want to spend $40, this is definitely an option!

I have not seen what the black and white edition looks like yet myself, but it is significantly less expensive than the color version. The main difference will be in the photographs. In the color version the photos retain their beautiful sepia tone (they were originally black and white photos, but have aged coniderably). I am not sure yet what the photos will look like printed in this less expensive fashion, but I will post when I get my black and white copy!

Yes it is finally out! After two years of hard work with help from many family members, the Meads of Mead Street Family Histories is finally ready. This book features nice warm reproductions of family photos taken throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. I couldn't believe how great it looked when I got it back from Lulu!
