Born in Dallas Texas in 1959 I was the middle of seven children. With only enough money to cover the basics of living we never went out for entertainment. My father who was 47 when I was born would tell stories that more often than not were pretty spooky. I learned to love the art of storytelling at his knee and developed a vast imagination that I have been able to feed and encourage throughout my life. I do not limit myself in my writing or any other areas of my life. I believe like the Romans did, I must expand or die.

I have begun to think that maybe death is afraid of me. I am returning home to Tennessee, I am old and can no longer find the thrill in living life or in seeking death. I have come to think that death has been mocking me all this time, keeping from me the excitement I have always sought.
