"Mad Duck and Hunter" pulls you into an invasion that has turned Earth into a fast food joint for hungry aliens, but Hunter's dry sense of humor, a kid he's nicknamed "Mad Duck", and a hottie named Red, make it not only bearable, but down right funny at times. Sometimes it's hard to tell if they're Butch and Sundance or Dumb and Dumber, but together, with some unexpected help, they make the best of what is left of their world...>>
"The Morphine King" takes you deep into J. Michael Boutwell's actual Morphine addicted mind, where a mentally real sanity devouring creature, Boutwell calls "The Morphine King," has enbedded himself deep, unmoveable and unstoppable inside his psyche. As the years slowly drag on, The Morphine King has opened the rusty gates in his dark and damp hell to release more and more of his sick and perverted Demons to rip what is left of Boutwell's mentality apart night after night and day after day. It doesn't take darkness or dreams to awaken them now...not anymore. The Morphine, Dilaudid and other assorted prescribed medicines have for over a decade twisted his mind. He describes his nightmares so well, that the normal "sane" person may find them described a bit "too well". These aren't made up stories. They are what Boutwell goes through every day and night of his life. Bed soaking night sweats, unwakable nightmares, uncontrollable shaking and pure fear of closing his eyes.
Right from the beginning, you begin to get a sense of the dreadful and scary inner workings of a mind that is in reality completely controlled by not only an addiction, but by Demons created from the very same modern Chemistry that was supposed to help him. In decades past, people would have been locked up if they had revealed thoughts like these.
