Mr. Topaz lives with Sarge. When Sarge leaves, he says, “You’re in charge.” Mr. Topaz soon discovers that “left in charge” means “left behind”. Trying to manage jealousy, sadness, loneliness and boredom, he treks to the garden to play. Here, he discovers a broken gourd that he must fix.
