HAPPY DAYS with the folks! so yeah, this lulu thingy....dont think theirs much more too say really, then my last post. i mean im not really a girl of many words, so i wont go on about the "whoooooole experience". its A-O-K! for the likes of me. not much....but their u go. if we use it again, we use it again...if we dont.....well ...we dont really. man! i AM SO GOOD AT THIS SHIT!! "high five". anyways im just whafferling on now, im missing me corrie. see ya laters, x 2007 Dec 11 what do i think about the past 11 weeks of my young adult life being subjective to the never ending tasks of ye olde lulu???????? im not all that passionate about this....site in particular. but saying that its ok for what u need. mannor the view books which have been receieved so far by fellow class dudes and dudettes are basically crap! which is abit of a joke, taking it takes a few weeks for the book to be delivered just so "on some occassions" the book not to be how u wished for it. be back in abit to rant somemore...im tired  2007 Dec 09 right well i keep noticing that me hits on my photobook keep going up. and im just wondering does this mean thats how many people have looked at your booked??? comments on your book???? im confused!....yet again!  lol 2007 Dec 07 . due to the absent of a few people we have decided that we cant really make or do anything concrete. so instead were now planning on how were going to construct our magazine threw out next week. for the friday deadline, thats right paula isn't it??? so.... monday (busy all day) tuesday group, meet up. hopefully early, not sure if people will be going to real lives this week, in that case we can meet up at say 10ish, gives us like a good 4 hours to finalised everything etc. 2pm go to paula with our idea, receive feedback. ... then get going with the construction of the magazine. so hopefully by the end of tuesday we should be on great form guys. wendesday, would be good if we could all come into uni too finish off the magazine  but that is up for discussions, as some folk may be busy with other work. thats it basically, cant see why we cant get the mag all done and dusted by thursday at the latest....IF ANY TEAM CAN DO IT, ITS THE A TEAM!!!. .... I PITTY THE FOOL! LOL x 2007 Dec 05 .....so yeah, thank u very much to the MR Doods, for providing the fanatastic photographic evidence lol what can i say.....but that we like to take things on a more somewhat "eaaaaaaasier way" hahaha. enjoy. A TEAM.    2007 Dec 05 2007 Dec 05 yeaaaaaaaaah guys!....or more like the brick wall lol ive finally uploaded my photobook so yeah feel free anyone....or someone too comment on it. cant wait for the final product touch wood it dosn't come out like lees....sorry lee lol 2007 Dec 05 the team and myself, of whom i like to class as the "A TEAM"... i pitty the fool! lol. are at moment currently just putting the final touches to our magazine, in terms of concepts and layouts etc. wev'e got a strong notion of how we see this magazine looking. and i feel personally the group meetings wev'e been having over the past few weeks have been very constructive. we havnt messed around, wev'e all been putting forward our own ideas and opinions. so yeah. well done guys! really excited about the outcome of this. so, heres the down-low on the mag guys..... Theme. the magazine is to based around photo pooling from the website www.Flickr.com , if some guys rn't quite sure what a "pool" is, cause to be honest with you i wasnt either! ha. its basically a group of images which all corrospond to the same theme. in this case " whats in you bag". a theme in which will explore the content of random strangers bads, of whom are on flickr.com Frequences. we have decided that this will be a quaterly magazine (every 3 months) Description Of Photography for our first issue of publication we are going to be looking at found images within flickr which demonstrate the contents of people's bags with that of the photos n which the person has of themselves. Individuals are going to be contacted, in regards to the usage of their materials with our publication. in terms of the selection process we have chosen images on their visual aesthetic of the photographs and have tried to select interesting portraits to go with the bag images. Description Of Text in terms of typography and text as a whole, their is going to be a very limited amount, as we want the mag to be souly about the images, were as the inclusion of text kinda takes this away. the name of our magazine is along the lines of Pool Source. as this is were we have gotten out images from. Team Roles. too be honest with you, our group is very much a collaboration of thoughts and ideas....(isnt thoughts and ideas the same thing???) . anyways! so were all kinda just coming together and putting out ideas and then as a group coming to a honest conclusion. its working well though! Design right the design of the mag, is gonna be your standard A4 size. with one image, in which we noted as visually important in our last meeting. and this image is going to be a fully wrap around layout. so basically the whole books just got this one image, its gonna look pretty cool. and the typography we have decided to highlight the P in pool and the S in source and use this as the identify for the mag. in a italic times new roman front at a decent size and the balance out the design as a whole. Pod because we have been using lulu over the past few months we have decided it would be in our best interest to carry on with this as our publisher. feel free too comment guys! 2007 Nov 05 hey ya'll.sorry about this being sooooooooooo late, i apologise greatly. i wont lie to you all,i have been slacking in this project but ive realised, just now that i need to actually get me ass in gear with this photo book. so yeah i wont go on etc, cause im actually really excited about this project personally, so here goes...... right for me photobook ive got a strong idea of how i want it too look. ive got planned for it too be the size of an A5 size book, if thats right. u know the size of half an A4 book.  im thinking in terms of layout and this being a photobook then for me personally, i dont feel that my book needs to be heavily graphically orientated, even though i am big on graphic design. i mean too me a photobook is all about the photos themselves and the excitment in which comes from looking at photos, abit basic i know. but thats my reason anyways. so im going to have a mixture of portrait and landscape shots of photos which i toke whilst on my "amazing" travels around europe this summer. The main concept here though is that im not going to incorporate shots of recognisable landscapes, say the eiffel tower,berlin wall etc. cause at the end of the day anyone can travel to these places and see them themselves, so i dont feel like i need to show people these places. so instead ive opted for the style that i perfer, which is documentary photography. so im using "snappet" as i like to call them from different countries i was in, and basically including the odd thing(s) which camptured my eye. and its things like this, not nessecerily the most obvious things, which make u stop in your tracks and look twice that appeals too me, and this is really why i enjoy photography.so yeah thats my reason behind that.... im going on way! too much now, so ill just do it as bullet points guys...lol · Description of photography - documentary/travel/quirky little things.full bleed photos with a white band at top and bottom of each photo. · Description of text - none within the book, only on cover. · Description of visual structure - organized into locations. document size - A5 number of pages - 40 typeface - only on front cover, white book with a black wrapping around both front and back and spine of book. white color font placed ontop, likely to change, knowing me. ideally a Rockwell typeface at a reasonable size to the cover. feel free to comment on this guys, if u think its good? if u think its rubbish lol cause i need comments niks

This fall 2007/08 unit takes place within the self-publishing environment provided by lulu.com, and considers if this online print on demand network can be used for educational photo publishing projects, whilst researching its advantages and limitations in relation to other publishing models. To understand current print on demand photo publishing we study lulu.com, engaging with electronic developments in two main publishing genres - Photobooks, where the work’s primary message is carried by photographs; and - Collaborative photo magazines (photomags), where the networking situations are the organising principle behind the collecting and publishing of the photographic work.
