The following books are part of a large series following the individuals in one tight-knit family. The series starts with the three Kapshaw brothers: Gabe, Mark, and Steven. As the series unfolds, the stories of each of their children are also explored. Each novel is category romance and, though belonging to a series, can stand alone. New books are added periodically. I started the Kapshaws with The Road That Leads home in 2002. The Road That Leads Home and At Sunset are both products of National Novel Writing Month (www.nanowrimo.org). You can read the first chapter of each novel by hitting preview. You can also view some of my shorter works and works in progress by visiting my portfolio at writing.com: http://Writing.Com/authors/stirastar If you enjoy either, I hope you'll consider purchasing one of the books. Feedback and comments are greatly appreciated.

The Road That Leads Home
Best friends falling in love. It's a common theme in romance because so many of us want our significant other to be just that—our best friend. Gabe Kapshaw is no different. Gabe has been falling for his best friend, Laney Roberts, since she returned to Lilac Grove, Iowa. After a failed relationship with her high school sweetheart, Laney has realized Lilac Grove is home and attempts to continue her journalism career in her hometown, oblivious to Gabe’s feelings. Gabe struggles with his feelings for Laney along with his love for his family farm, which is being left to his older brother once his father retires. As the two struggle to find their careers, they rediscover each other in the process. In the end, The Road That Leads Home is about finding home, finding yourself, and by doing so, discovering your other half. Originally written during National Novel Writing Month 2002.

At Sunset
Steven Kapshaw has lived in Lilac Grove, Iowa his whole life, spending most of that life being groomed for the family farm and charming all eligible females within a thirty-mile radius. But, at twenty-six he gives the farm to his newly married brother and heads to Blue Pass, Montana to be partners in a ranch. He had women on the mind, but not one quite like Alexandra Winthrop. To Alex Winthrop, loss and grief were the main factors in life. Work was her escape and the work she chose was librarian of her hometown library, along with researching and creating a museum dedicated to Miranda Lewis, a prominent woman in Blue Pass during the Depression. When a mutual friend tries to match her with Steven Kapshaw, Alex is sure she’s learned all the weapons to fight off a guy like Steven. Until she learns Steven is Miranda’s grandson. And, that there’s far more to Steven than she originally expected. (Part of the Kapshaw Series which includes The Road That Leads Home. Written originally for NaNoWriMo 2003)

All Of You
Mark Kapshaw never had an interest in taking over the family farm, no matter what his father wanted. Instead, he took an accounting job at one of the largest companies in the Midwest and moved to Chicago to get away from the guilt and attempts at control over his life. Quiet, shy and comfortable being alone, Mark is ready to live life on his own terms. That is, until he meets Shauna Murphy, the dazzling daughter of his boss. Though Mark fights it, he quickly finds himself falling under the persuasive lawyer’s spell. But, as their relationship grows, both Mark and Shauna must struggle with confidence in themselves and in each other if they want a future together.

Simply Love
Simply Love is the fourth book in the Kapshaw series. It is the first book dealing with the second generation of Kapshaws. Ella Kapshaw, daughter of Mark and Shauna Kapshaw (All of You), is a promising advertising executive at her Grandfather's company, Murphy-Douglas. Paul Stuart is a simple man who wants nothing more than a simple life. Unfortunately, his parents tumultuous relationship makes that incredibly difficult. Add Ella Kapshaw to the mix and Paul soon struggles with his ideas for that simple life. As the two build a working and personal relationship, each must overcome their fears of intimacy to follow the path to love.
