  Most of us are not very comfortable with silence. A few of us are terrified by silence and try our best to avoid it. The practice of silence helps us create an inner sense of equilibrium which encourages genuine wellbeing. Such feelings attract fulfillment and a strong faith that the universe is beneficent. A deep sense of equilibrium and wholeness helps us to create abundance. Anxiety or a sense that something is missing shows up as lack. Law of Attraction (LOA) is always at work bringing to us all that matches up with our inner feeling picture. Ever wondered where all the scarcity come from on this planet? Obviously, no one consciously uses the Law of Attraction to create scarcity. Yet, if you look around, a sense of "not enough" is clearly one of the most powerful thought-forms on this planet. Perhaps this is very much intertwined with the way we make love.

In this interview, Martha captures the story of a mother's journey to save herself and her son by letting go and finding miracles in America's orphanages. Her words should touch hearts and open minds. Carr is the creator and executive director of the Shared Abundance Foundation and the Family Tree Project. Carr is also a journalist who frequently writes for the Washington Post. She is also the author of the film scripts A Cardboard Fable and Wired and the novels Wired and The Sitting Sisters. Carr, a descendant of Jefferson, now lives in New York City and is also associated with a speakers’ bureau devoted solely to spiritual topics.

  When we become one with the compassionate Observer within us, we realize in our soul that we are limitless, that we can cure us of any diseases, that no “trouble” can affect us, that we just cannot feel hunger or thirst or tiredness feel we do not want to feel it! Above all, we become fearless. It’s such a relief when we finally get a glimpse of our own eternity! As the Hindu manifestation of God, Krishna, says in the Bhavagad Gita, “Our soul is immortal, eternal, imperishable. Weapons cannot injure it; water cannot wet it; fire cannot burn it; wind cannot dry it.”

• You are the Thinker, not the Thoughts

  Immobilizing feelings such as extreme rage or depression are powerless by themselves. It is the identification with those feelings that is the real issue. We can always detach ourselves from our own feelings and thoughts, for we are not the thoughts but the Thinker of the thoughts. And this Thinker is divinity itself. This Thinker is always above the thoughts. Even if you feel the thoughts are impure, they just cannot make the Thinker impure. This Witness is pure love; It is a Compassionate Witness and It always observes the world from a standpoint of total non-judgmental love. When we become one with the Witness by going within, we remove ourselves from the material world where we have the pain and suffering. Cultivating the Witness is out ticket to absolute freedom. Go for it!

Even the intention to have no desires is a desire. The key to the fulfillment of our deepest desires is joy. The secret is to be in a state of gratitude. To feel gratitude, you must stop depreciating and start appreciating.
