I have been contemplating asking Lulu to publish a book I've been working on. I wanted to do as much of the work as I could to keep costs down...doing the formatting myself, for example would be a great savings if I did it right. Figuring Ken's tutorial would be a great place to start, I plunked down $4.01 and couldn't wait to see what he had to say. While the hints were useful (I'm not an expert with Word but do use it a lot), I was appalled at the quality of the writing and editing. The document is riddled with mistakes and sloppy editing. If this Tutorial is an example of the quality of Lulu's work, I may take my book elsewhere.

"WOW!" I am a graphic Designer so I know alot about computers but I couldn't figure out how to get my margins opposite on every other page so when printed back to back everything lined up. This tutorial is amazing!!! Im ready to print now and everything will be perfect!

This booklet is a godsend for anyone who is a beginner to self-publishing. I had no idea about mirror margins, gutters, and the importance of page and section breaks! It doesn't cover everything, but it covers enough to get you started. And since it can save you hundreds of dollars in pre-publishing services, it's well worth the small price. My book looks great and I couldn't have done it without this set of instructions!

"Great for even the more advanced (or more frequent) users" Knowing and remembering Ken's tips are two different things! After upgrading to Word 2007 from Word 2003 on my work computer, I'd found it hard to remember what to do on my home computer, on which I still use Word 2003 (not enough "juice" to upgrade).

Thanks for the reminder, Ken! Great work!
