"MOVING ON"
Gay romance fiction with a Dom/sub dynamic between the lead characters, Thomas and Andrew.

Thomas is the dominant partner, he’s older than Andy and slightly eccentric in that he has a love of proverbs, which he’s prone to espouse at any given moment. Andy has a cheeky charm that hides an underlying insecurity and vulnerability. He has a past that he wants to hide, as much from himself as from his partner Thomas. A visit to a car boot sale has unforeseen repercussions when Andy comes face to face with something that he never imagined he’d ever see again, a doll’s house that once belonged to his sister. Suddenly the past seems to be catching up with him again... More > and out of fear and confusion he takes flight, leaving behind everything he has come to care for. Without the love and guidance of Thomas, Andrew’s life rapidly takes a downward turn.

The first part of the book deals with Andrew’s flight and the reasons for it and also throws up a question as to whether Andy actually wants to stay with Thomas. Then there’s a lovely flashback sequence that explains how Thomas and Andy came together in the first place. In the final part Bob, Thomas and Andy’s beloved pet cat goes missing, an event that triggers anxiety in Andy and leads him to try and resort to old coping mechanisms. Thomas makes known his disapproval in no uncertain terms.

This is a really enjoyable read; it’s sad, amusing, warm and witty.
