A nice writeup that will get you thinking about how you perceive the game as a player and portray the game as a GM. However, the flaw inherent in the document is its premise that this is a matter of 'old school' vs. 'new school'. The actual conflict is 'creative' vs. 'uncreative'. I've included a link to a counterpoint that answers the primer better than I can here. http://www.thealexandrian.net/creations/misc/rules-rulings.html

Well done discussion about the mindset differences between the 0e movement and the current "modern" rulebook-oriented set in today's rpgs. Great examples.

A must read for any role-player, whether GM or player. Encapsulates everything at the heart of the 4e vs old school debate.
