"A very personal expression"
From the preview, the writer's feelings are expressed in a very personal tone and candid approach. Since these poems are a deep expression of feelings, mostly reflecting the writer’s downhearted and insecurity that come directly from inside, the reader will not find structured rhyming or some kind of rhythm in the writing. Of course, classic rhyming in this kind of expression would indeed be artificial. Yet rhythm - even partial one - is an element that I would have liked to see in some places, simply to better flow with what the writer had in mind.

This is definitely an emotional book. Of course, anybody who would say in a poem “I want to... More > die” would instantly write an emotional line without much effort, so this brings me to the question of whether there’s any kind of message other than dying in this whole book of 120 pages. After reading the preview, which ends in the darkness of the night and what appears to be half-of-person (the writer?) who wants to die, there is no indication whether these overall downhearted feelings change, or whether there is some kind of development towards the middle and then the end of the book. This also arises the question of whether the poems are arranged in some kind of order that tells an overall story. That I can’t say, but it may be well worth to spend $2.5 for the PDF to find out.

As for the general appearance of the book (some readers do care about this), the book is uniformly formatted, and the smooth fonts were selected appropriately. Well designed front cover.

Lastly, Megan Harris shows potential, let’s hope that future creations would take a more *optimistic* path than in Anomie… :)

Updated: after buying the PDF, some of my questions were cleared (including the one regarding the order of poems, that's for you to discover). Some poems have more rhythm and structure than in those presented in the preview. The book is more diverse than expected. Overall, a good job and I can see that time was invested in this project. One thing for sure, the night plays a dark and “deadly” role in Morgan’s mind. < Less
