Use the book as a conversation piece for your coffee table, more accurately determine how many calories you are consuming or find a lower calorie item to meet your budget for the day. The inspiration for this book came from my wife, just like my other book, The Pen and Paper Diet. My wife came up with a simple technique to find out how many calories there are per gram for a made-from-scratch meal. This got me interested in finding out how many calories there are per gram for the world’s foods. I simply used the tables in The Pen and Paper Diet and divided the amount of grams per serving into the amount of calories to get calories per gram.
