This is the account of the first major training project of the Academic Walking Society (societas Ambulationis Academica) from Haarlem. This first training project was named 'Crossing Borders from Border to Border', because it led the Soc. along the Limes, the northern border of the Roman Empire, from the eastern border of the Netherlands (near Emmerich) to the western border of the Netherlands (at Katwijk). The Wandelsoc. walked this distance, as training for the Nijmegen Four Day Marches, in 5 stages, in 2000 and 2001.
