This is a facsimile of the 1540 edition of the Great Bible that was first published in 1539. This Bible was authorized by King Henry VIII, directed by Sir Thomas Cromwell and prepared by Myles Coverdale. Some pages were replaced with better copies from a second copy from the same year (1540). This is Herbert's #53 and STC #2070. (Volume 1 of 2)
