"Review of Life: An Autobiography by Jack Guntheridge" A novella told in straightforward language that reveals the many layers of ways people can damage, to a point just short of destroying, the ones they love and adore the most. Parents whose selfish interests and needs leave holes in the hearts of children longing for love and attention. Or parents who do everything right but have the very bad taste and timing of dying at the most tender moment in young Jack's overdue expression of love for the object of his desire. Not only does Jack relate his story of unrequited love for and obsession with his childhood sweetheart with simple innocence, he allows his friends to express their contradicting perceptions. All this revelation of feeling creates an experience for the reader that leaves a lasting impression in a compressed form. Thank you for inspiration to try a new approach to writing. This book is transforming and that can only be said of great prose.
