Lulu Marketplace

A compilation of short fiction and poetry by New York based writers in the 21st century; solicited for their contributions around the end of the summer 09'. Title inspired by the insane pandemic climate hitting the ten year mark in the new millennium laden with fear and control. I have solicited Federico Frum as the photographic accompaniment to these stories. His photo essay focuses on the community of salesmen on Canal Street who different reasons are in New York earning. These street vendors exemplify ideals heavily fostered in NY, city of dreams, and in the US, land of opportunity. They also embody the social comment that this is a global perception. This multicultural marketplace is a way to see the world at work. Introduction by Clayton Patterson.
