"A Glimpse of Iraq"
This book delivers on its promise.
It presents a glimpse of Iraq from someone of Iraq - now - with both the substance of hard experience as well as the grace of a soul merged with his people with all their rich, ancient, often tragic, history and culture.
And somehow there is humor as well as hope.

It should be read and shared widely.

"Outstanding! " Reading this beautifully written book is like listening to people who are in and at war in Iraq talk to you in their home! Perhaps the most balanced and professional book written about Iraq. The Iraq War is not over. It remains to be seen whether America can avert civil war and help forge a more stable and prosperous democracy in Iraq. More will happen, more will be known, and more will be written. But right now, Ibrahim Al-Shawi's Glimpse on Iraq represents an outstanding effort to paint a bigger picture of the war thus far.

"A Fabulous Read" Every person in the U.S. should read this book, to better understand not only the people of Iraq, but to help grasp the differences between these areas of the world. - Ibrahim Al-Shawi created a warm and informative view of Iraqi's, and shares people, life, passion, and traditions that won my respect and affection. - A great book!
