"Jeanann Murphy is an artist with her cookbooks..." Although I'm not connected to Utica area, I will be ordering this Cookbook. I have a copy of Ms Murphy's personal family cookbook, and have collaborated with her on a cookbook for the OurCountryHaven web community. Because of these experiences, I know first hand that delightful things can be expected from anything she produces.

Jeanann's cookbooks are warm, inviting, creative, and extremely well done. As someone who loves to cook, her recipes are well presented, and easy to read.

Her heart and soul goes into everything Jeanann does, so expect a book that will be treasured... as a collector's item, a special gift brimming with tender loving care, as well as an inspiring and useful cookbook in every kitchen.

I can hardly wait to see the magic she has brought to the pages of 'A taste of Utica'.

"Cooking the Book !!!!" Joanne Willcox of APPLE CRUMBLES received A TASTE OF UTICA recipe book and is cooking her way through the whole book !!!

Better yet she is photographing and blogging about the experience.

This cookbook has so many delicious recipes that I remember from my childhood. Everyone one of them evokes a memory or two. And the little stories bring to mind things long forgotten. It's a joy to read and cook from. I lived in East Utica so learned to cook Italian before I learned to fry an egg. My teachers were women and men who understood a balance of ingredients and flavors. They cooked like the TV chef's do now, without exact measurments. A recipe is NOT a chemical formula. Making a dish is an art. Bravo!!

Just bought the cookbook. Very disappointed. Many of the recipes don't even list all the ingredients - you just stumble upon them in the course of the cooking instructions (page 129 i.e.). Many of the recipes don't even list the measurements of each ingredient (pages 27, 141, i.e.). Hard to believe the authors would lend their names to such mistakes and print the book anyway.
