"One of the best Art books I have ever purchased."
Well, I'm only up to page 50, but I can tell you that this is a gem of a book. Allan Linder 20th century and beyond by Todd Gunzelman is spectacular.

Allan Linder is an award winning artist that works mainly in acrylic on canvas. His style is so flexible that it seems he can paint almost anything any way. His subject matter is New York City in his recent works but much more obscure in older paintings. The co - author Todd Gunzelman, an inventor and designer himself, is a seamless writer, bringing out the very best of Allan Linder's interesting past and his artwork.

Though Allan Linder works mostly in... More > acrylic paint, the book doesn't dwell on specific techniques, instead it addresses the artist’s journey through a tumultuous childhood and his path to the New York art scene. Throughout the book there are interesting facts about the artist and his ideas. There are also very interesting critiques from various sources about some of his major works. I would buy this book for the “Transitions” section alone.

The writing style is refreshing, with very personal details written by the artist and inspirational quotes by some of the greatest minds of our times. It’s pretty neat, definitely something to read over and over again. The photos of Allan’s paintings are beautiful. If you own any of his work then you must have this book. Unfortunately, I only have one small sketch. In short, this is about the best "Coffee Table Art Book” by a living artist I have seen. It’s almost like being in the same room with the artist. < Less
