The concept was inspired by the aftermaths of several recent world disasters including the tsunami and hurricane Katrina. Ginger Mayerson sent out notices requesting recipes from bloggers around the world. People who blogged contributed their recipes for salads, appetizers, drinks, main course, as well as essays on a variety of food subjects.
