"I got to get a copy of this.." Because it would give me some insight where G.W. Thomas was coming from when publishing adventure and other stories in RAGE MACHINE Magazine. Money's been tight but cool to see a book like this is in market. Good luck Ron with getting it out there.

Interesting as I was very curious about Lin Carter since he seems to be so derrided as a pastiche author (came across him through the post Howard Conan novels and thought him a MONSTER) and generally believed to be not very original (which this work pretty much confirmed). The essays within didn't seem apologetic nor overtly championing him as a great misunderstood writer but gave me a better picture of an author that may have been overly enthusiastic about others' original ideas and probably wrote more for a paycheck than just pure passion. The only real gripe I have about this book is the 3rd essay (I Have Seen Yith and Yuggoth: Lin Carter's Dreams From R'lyeh) which was way too analytical of his poetry in technical terms which made it just bland and tortuous to read. The rest however was an entertaining read.
