"Ascorbate by Ruth Chappell" This book is about a subject that is important for all of us.
As well as giving an account of the current differing opinions in this controversial debate, it gives us an insight into the history of research into vitamin C.
I can highly recommend this book.

"What the world needs now" One can't help thinking about how the world might change if this book was used to help teach the scientific method to our school children. Clear, concise, accurate, unbiased and easily read by everyone.

What the world needs now is several thousand more courageous scientists like Dr. Hickey.

Some of us believe that the reputation of science has suffered because of public confusion over findings in medicine. This book, if widely read, will do much all by itself to restore confidence in Science. For that we owe Dr. Hickey a great deal. But it does lead to my only beef: This book should be available in hard cover! This is one book that should be in as many public and medical libraries as possible.

"Ascorbate by Steve Hickey"
Dr. Steve Hickey has written a marvelous book. He presents detailed
knowledge of vitamins C (ascorbic acid) and its function in the body.
He points out that lime juice was used to prevent scurvy and penicillin
to kill germs were tested in small groups and then safely employed for
people. Long-term, expensive tests with animals and then large groups
of people were not required. He explained the errors of statistics,
large-scale tests and bias.
With vitamin C, successful, small scale tests for heart disease and
cancer have been neglected by mainstream medicine.
Dr. Hickey suggests suitable doses of vitamin C and... More > other
supplements
for heart, cancer and several other ills. I recommend the book highly
to present and future patients who want to live longer and with less
pain. He has also written "Cancer, Nutrition and Survival."

His vitamin C knowledge has helped me and several of my friends. I was diagnosed 9 years ago with agressive prostate cancer-my PSA was doubling every 6 months. With hormones and vitamins my PSA is down to 0.6 average for the last 4 years. I never needed nor had surgery, chemotherapy or radiation of any kind.
