A highly successful, news reporter with connections in the intelligence services is sent on a mission to a land ravaged by unwanted occupation. He is asked to write articles to boost the morale of troops occupying the country. He devises a story with the help of his military contacts which they hope will also win public support for the military’s handling of indigenous, partisan resistance. The journalist’s story takes on a life of its own when he falls into enemy hands, and he has to act out the tale he has written. In the eye of this storm, he is brought together with a woman who is his only chance of survival.
