"Corpsman up" A great and true book. I had the privlege of serving with Paul "Buzz" Baviello in the same company in Vietnam as his senior corpsman, and can attest to all the on-goings that are so vividly brought out in the book. We keep in touch via e-mail, although he's in California and I'm in Pennsylvania. Semper Fi, Buzz! Johnny Bart.

"Re: Corpsman Up! A True Account of the job of an FMF Corpsman" This man is my history teacher,a great teacher he is.I always go to him when i talk about the armed forces. He is an awsome teacher and i bet he was a awsome Marine. Mr. Baviello is an easy going teacher who doesn't mind talkin about his past of pain and struggle in vietnam,an i admire him for it. I am Bryan King and i'm goin to be a future marine.I'd like to thank Mr. Baviello for his encouragement. My dream is to be US Marine and he back me up on it. Thank you Mr Baviello. Semper Fi(always faithful)

As a Corpsman of Sangin, Afghanistan, I can relate to the everyday struggles that Doc Baviello writes about. This book clearly depicts the hardships of the Marine grunt in Vietnam. The depictions in the book emerse you into history while revealing what todays Marines and Corpsmen endure all at the same time. A great book and easy to read. Once you pick it up clear your schedule till your done.

"Paul Baviello " I "met" Paul on the internet just a few months after my son, HM3 John D. House was KIA 1/26/05 in Iraq. (John was a corpsman.) After exchanging emails he sent me a copy of his book "Corpsman Up." As soon as I started reading it I couldn't help but think how John would have enjoyed reading Paul's book and meeting him. Keep up the good work Buzz - everybody should know what a corpsman is !
