"Correct Madness" It takes a lot for me to sit down and actually read a book. After purchasing a copy of this book from my great friend and author, I found it very hard to put down. I loved this book!! Very easy to follow what she went through as a hearings officer for the prison system. I was either having chills running down my spine or chuckling at some of the characters she talked about. She covered the different types of people she had to put up with in order to contain her sanity throughout the day--some days were horrific and sometimes she was ready to call it quits. This book will certainly hold your attention to the very end. I think she went beyond doing an excellent job writing this book. I cannot wait for her next book! You go girl, Landis!

"Correct Madness" Once again Landis Lain has outdone herself, with a very accurate and many times hilarious account of the brutal society that is the Michigan Department of Corrections. As a mentor and big sister, Landis always had words of wisdom for me that resounded in my everyday life. It is no wonder after reading her extremely entertaining descriptions of prison life, where some of the hard lessons she taught me found their origins. This book is a complete success and a very enjoyable read. If you are like myself and are a former corrections officer, you will find the passages about inmates and criminal behavior not only truthful, but precise. If you have never been a part of the corrections system, this book will take you inside the walls and you an incredibly raw and many times comical look at prison life. Great book. Great read. Even better author. Congratulations Landis on a fantastic achievement. You were absolutely right; I did have somewhere else to go!
