"A Book of Dark Verse For the Betrayed"
Now that I have all of your attention, let me tell you about a most delicious book that I received in the Mail today from the one and only Canibal Rose, also known as Julie L. Thielen the creater of Cannibal Rose Creations. She is on my top friends. I got this book today in the mail and ripped it open then sat down and read it cover to cover all the time saying, she is in my head.
The Book is titled Deteriorate -
Although this book is small, it packs a wallop. Cannibal Rose aka Julie gives us poems from the dark side of betrayal.
Her poem "The 4 Horrors of A Traitors Death" explains how the betrayer is first hung until almost... More > dead, then cut down and castrated with a dull razor, that is not enough to statisfy the pain in the heart of the betrayed, so the betrayer is then gutted and finally pulled in four seperate pieces by four horses.
Julie, has put on paper what most of us feel when we are betrayed by the one we love. The one we have given our heart and our deepest sout to.
This book is an absolute must read. It makes a great gift for a friend who is going through a nasty divorce, or breakup. They can live out their fantasty in verse. It really does the body good. There are still a couple out there I would love to well... you know.
Julie's book can be found on Lulu.com or contact her personally she has copies. The illustrations are to die for they were done by Kimberlee Traub and they rock. They are done sort of like the Nightmare Before Christmas.
I give this book at least 10 stars. Keep them coming Rose , keep them coming.

I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with the world of poetry. On the one hand I see it as the truest, most pure, and beautiful way for a writer to express their thoughts, ideas, and feelings. You can really learn a lot about a person and their world by reading the poetry they write. However, on the other hand far too much of it is seemingly overly sentimental and the message is lost in the poet’s attempt to come off as deep or make their relationships appear more profound and meaningful then they actually are. “Deteriorate” doesn’t fall into that trap.

Betrayal is the main theme of this collection, with a healthy side order of rage. This is a great collection for anyone... More > who’s been done wrong in the arena of love, which I think is most of us, and still holds onto some resentment. Sort of in the same way singing along with breakup song can be therapeutic these poems too are.

True to the title, a handful of the verses venture off into the territory of desperation, depression, and self-deprecation. I can’t say I found these passages to totally be to my liking, but like the anger and venom of the rest they felt honest. Nothing about them came off as a clichéd attempt at being “dark” which so much of this genre of poetry does.

Overall I’d say this is a book I could really relate to… and I do mean REALLY. < Less
