Everyone else can just sit back and enjoy reading about something going gradually and completely wrong.

"It would have been funny, had it not been so sad..."
... and Dan Howland communicates this point perfectly. The narrative is a little dry, but the subject matter and the facts more than speak for themselves.
I think Dome and Domer should be used as a mandatory case study for every MBA and engineering program in every college who has them (the programs). If you are a manager - big or small - keep this book on your desk at all times. Read it prior to making a decision on a project - especially if the rationale behind that project doesn't feel very... well... rational to you.
