Kirima, an eleven-year-old orphaned girl, leaves her mundane and safe life at the orphanage behind after she finds out that her best nine-year-old friend Kozue is being hunted down after being abducted from his home country and taken to a country of complete isolation to the outside world. Seems far-fetched for one of her age, but Kirima has the upper hand - she controls the element of fire. But will that alone be enough to succeed in a place where not many outsiders get in, and most who succeed are never heard from again?

"PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW FOR INFORMATION"
Due to a bug in the revise system which Lulu staff still haven't figured out and doesn't believe me when I tell them about it existing; I had to remake this as a complete new listing.

Also this version should be my last revision. I have fixed the lighting which one mentioned was an issue in my most recent review (in the image) and smoothened the shading. Also, one of my readers took the liberty to spell-check for me and I once again thank him :)

When I first saw the cover, I was wondering if it would be some cute fantasy story.
And as the old saying says, "Never Judge a Book by its Cover"
Fahei brings you a very real scenario. Where civil wars have left orphans to live in the worse conditions, with no protection from authorities whom abuse them, no shelter, no food, no future.
In an occidental side, another orphan reaches out to a fellow orphan in that land ravaged by war. Risking all, safety, a home, this little girl embarks into the unknown, with the only knowledge that her friend needs her.
The best thing I liked was how human, and real the characters feel. The art, although very cute looking, does not hide the cruelty of what we as humans can do to those more defenseless. I believe *bitter-sweet* is the best way to describe it.
I highly recommend it. You wont regret reading Fahei.

"Great Grapchic Novel"
To be bluntly honest, this graphic novel, is in many words-heart wrenching. True, it is drawn in a cute-ish manga style but the story behind it- is like a KQED or history channel documentary. It tells a real story, about orphans, and troubles in a real world state. Nothing fantasy about it. True human cruelty, and it leaves you bonded with the characters much more then any other fantasy story.
I highly recommend the read!
