Organists are sometimes called upon to do the unexpected with little advance notice, and the composer of these four works is often asked for emergency offertories or preludes that can be prepared instantly. Accordingly, he wrote these four short easy pieces to help fulfill that kind of need. They are meant to be learnable in a couple of practice sessions, if not overnight. All are playable with soft accompaniments and gentle solo stops.
