"From Which Place the Morning Rises: Review by Cindy Savis"
From Which Place the Morning Rises represents a new batch of creative, imagistic poems since the author and his last book, The Lost American: From Exile to Freedom. Most of the poems were written right in the picturesque small village of Itasca, Illinois were the poet resides. Some of the poems are on the dark side, many are about nature written about the birds and landscape right off the balcony of the author’s condo. This may very well be one of the top poets in the state of Illinois at this time.

Subjects range from “Manic is the Dark Night” a poem about the... More > crazy insanity of depression and interactions with a psychiatrist to lovely tales about willow trees, sparrows, and doves.

I believe some of the best poems ever published my Michael Lee Johnson are inside this little gem of a book.
