""GPRS 100 Success Secrets" Doesn't Deliver"
This is a "sour grapes" review after spending sixteen bucks on a piece of very questionable fluff.

I was hoping for some constructive and helpful guidelines to help me get GPRS up and running in my application connected to a Telit modem. Instead I found this book to be a light-weight compilation of redundant and mostly useless "rah-rah" information praising the glories of GPRS.

The book is poorly organized, and by all appearances seems to be a re-hash of articles and promotional pieces. There are no cross-references or links to any useful or concrete information.

For example, in a section purporting to... More > present "Some Useful Programs that Can Improve GPRS Connections" all you will find is a list of generic program types with NO specific program names and NO links or references to where such might be downloaded. Similarly a discussion of GPRS wiki pages provides not even one example.

The text is full of gems of worthless verbiage, such as "It seems that almost everything has gone wireless nowadays." and "Who would have thought that mobile phones can now be
used to access the Internet?"

In the section titled "The Basics of GPRS Modem Settings" there is not one word about how to actually set up a modem - only extremely general references to using bluetooth or windows wizards to do so.

If I had been browsing through a bookstore and been able to pick this book up and flip through it, there is no way that I would have spent anything to buy it. I would not have bought it at a yard sale for a quarter. < Less
