All communities develop written or unwritten rules that express their identity & ethos as well as addressing more pragmatic functions. Clarity breeds confidence; investment in a clear outline of the ethos & mechanics of a community empowers members & instils in them the confidence needed to get on with serving the cause of the Gospel. These canons are the product of over 10 years of experience, research & discernment by our community exploring the way we wish to order our common journey as Grace Catholics & our identity within the OC/IC movement. We decided to publish our canons believing that; a community's rules say as much about its beliefs & aims as any creedal statement does & that OC/IC members & communities need to be more visible. One way to achieve this is to make our writings available to a wider audience. Our canons are just one possible system & we would be very pleased if anything in them should prove useful to other communities in framing their own.
