This book is about the process of ‘earth engagement’ that we use to grow food in Buddha Garden, which is a farm in the spiritual township of Auroville, south India. The aim of this book is to help you understand this process which is not a set of techniques, but a way of involving ourselves with the earth to grow food. It describes the elements of food growing – the soil, water, plants, animals, pests and diseases. It explains how to harness the natural processes that sustains these elements. It inspires you to bring everything together into a creative whole where you too will be able to grow food that brings a new balance and healing to the earth and to ourselves.
