What a USEFUL book "I Was Thinking" is! I highly recommend it for family and friends who want to maintain and create harmony and connection with their elder loved ones. I also recommend "I Was Thinking" to direct care staff who make such a difference for the elders they care for each day. The examples of how conversations normally 'go wrong' and how they can be tweaked to have positive outcomes is invaluable. Ms Waugh gives the reader ample room to customize the book by recording favorite stories, feelings, and sensations that have meaning to the individual who has cognitive loss. You'll find plenty of suggestions and techniques that help you be flexible in the... More > relationship. Also included are "20 Key Points to Successful Conversation" which are tagged with 'where' specifics techniques can be found within the book. This truly is a RELATIONSHIP KIT that you will find to be a treasure. It may even help you in ALL your relationships, will surely positively impact the ones you have with elders with cognitive loss. I always recommend this book to participants in my dementia care classes, and I recommend it for you. < Less
