I Went Down The Garden

This is a quirky humourous rhyme my mother and her friend Ma Herman used to tell us when we were small. If told at a rhythmical pace you can bounce the toddler on your knee in time. Then whoosh them up into the air on the punchline! My mother, now 94, did these illustrations a few years back for her grandchildren. She his now sadly practically blind, but she is thrilled this is being made into a book.
ps A farthing is a coin once used in England - a quarter of an old penny.
