"My review of " It Grows. . . ""
“ It Grows Darker Still “ a review by: Anthony Parson

In reading " It Grows Darker Still " I found myself descending even further than I ever imagined. As where " Descent Into the Dark " left off, Ms. Sprott picks up playing the travel guide through her own personal hell giving us the first class, dark tour. I’m speaking of something more than some cheesy haunted house of mirrors here. Her works will trickle up and down your spine like a mad xylophonist, helping you discover hairs on the back of your neck you never even knew were there!

Her work has been presented in several styles, one of the most outstanding being that of... More > ethere’s, which I believe in this book, she has mastered unequivocally. I particularly found her unique play on words ( i.e. " Womanipulation " , " Chaotic Engima " etc. ) sinister concoctions resting upon my tongue and inside my head like a dark brew, savory yet biting. The imagery that she creates on such poems as " A Journey in Dementia " and " Flora " were so disturbing I must confess they gave me goosebumps! And that is merely a hint of the dark feast of her self-sacrificial offering, there are no shortages of her killer wit found here. She makes certain you’re head will never leave the dark with an empty stomach ( that is, if she permits you to leave at all ).

As the same with " Descent into the Dark " I get more and more out of " It Grows Darker Still " each time I read it ( like how a great painting must be studied several times in order to fully appreciate it’s wondrous image ). And you will be captivated to read it several times, for Ms. Sprott has remained constant in her principles which bind her writing together in both books. She shares to us with her soul - fully - never inhibiting herself in any way. . .yet always leaving us with a great mystery to unravel for our own selves. I recommend it passionately to all and to all I strongly urge, no - dare you to pick it up for yourselves, and then dare you to put it down!
