"Living Cheap & Loving It" I really enjoyed participating in this book. Carrol adopted my granola recipe & toher tips on freezing items. I am now using her recipe for laundry detergent & vinegar for fabric softener. It has inspired me to look for other ways to save money. Hope the book does well & helps a lot of others save money in these hard economic times.

Get the download of this book before you buy your next latte. I enjoyed this no-nonsense guide to living a cheap, but healthy life. Unlike most cheap-living books, Carrol does not advocate living like a Hippy, scrounging or trying to "rip-off the system, man." Carrol demonstrates how a bit of planning and bravado can get the best bargains for food, clothing, transportation and entertainment. I liked her approach of teaching children to bargain hunt and always be improving one's knowledge. The author also makes no bones about the possibility of being laid off. (Most of us who survived the early eighties, might not have learned that recessions are a fact of life.) This is not a book about sacrifice and scraping by. It is about self-reliance and taking charge of one's finances and still enjoying life. The book pays for itself within hours of reading it.
