Maid for Me by Kat Lieu proves to be a wonderful journey through Mina Lin’s experiences with her mother Kaila, her best friend and crush Kiterin, the rich boy Jaiden, and the rest of the cast. Juggling with teenage drama and a childish mother, Mina shows that a teenage girl can be independent, resourceful, cunning, and strong individual. The cast of characters was comprised of a wide variety of personalities and attitudes, such as the ever popular, and secretly a gold-digger, girlfriend, to the stern butler, who has a pure, traditionalist heart, and many more diverse personalities. Concerning the use with the characters, there is the wonderful contrast between Kiterin Forrests and Jaiden... More > Daniels. The best friend and the rich boy may not have an exceeding amount of face to face interaction, but the differences between the two are still extremely apparent ant tangible, allowing the reader to truly understand Mina’s feelings between the two of them. The only flaw that I noticed was that a part of two of the story moved extremely fast. However, these bouts of fast story were easily forgotten as the story kept a realistic feel, since none of the characters magically changed and turn over new leaves almost instantly. The changes within the characters actually occurred over time, keeping them realistic. With this use of realism, the story actually felt as if it actually could have, or would have happened in real life, and is not simply a novel. Plus, the added suspense that accompanied the stalker served to have; this story transcended a simple teenage romance novel, into something much more wonderful. Kat Lieu has created a wonderful story and a definite read for anyone who likes their romance dramas with some action, suspense, and spectacular cast of characters. I hold nothing but anticipation for her next upcoming novel Serpentine Spell and anything else she has in the works.

This was a really nice book. I liked it a lot. I just sat down for a few hours and read it all. The cover art is very nice too ;D Okay serious critic....some parts felt a bit rushed especially the ending and the relationship developed very quickly within possibly just one week? Overall I liked it and I rarely read. Really good job!

First, I want to say how immensely proud I am of you and your story. I know you have come a long way, and it is absolutely surreal when I read your book from cover to cover. I have to say I liked it much better than the first version. It was very fluid, and the writing holds together very well. As always, I love it when your writing style refers to pop references and to a certain Disney princess. :) Honestly, that is what makes you unique from other writers. Also hate to report to you that I was crying on pg. 70, when I thought Mina's mom was going to die. Kudos, for an excellent job. I will be looking forward to the serpentine story soon.

Personally I wasn't ready to accept this book face on, but as I decided to read more I started to liking the story. It has a funny dialogue that keeps the story light and not too dark amongst the danger that some characters are facing. Toward the ending it started to get more intense — I really liked how the author drew me into the storyline and made me personally interested in the characters livelihood. At first, I didn't care for Mina, nor her friends, but through Jaiden's and Kit's eyes I was able to really appreciate who Mina was and her role in the story. I will definitely recommend this story to others. Actually I already recommended it to one of my co-workers.
