"Maynard Went This Way ****** Rock On Rating" These poems are delicious - they give me the feeling of a tender, aware, appreciation of each moment. They invite me into a deep, rich life of gentle humor, pathos, utter joy, and permission to weep.

The arc of this book is the poet learning the wisdom, the old ways from Maynard the Dog. The simplicity of dog life. “…I want to learn to speak that way. This beautiful book of poetry ends with the poet having learned so well she joins Maynard in dog life. “...…bruising our eyeballs with beauty, swiveling our majestic heads….We’re surveying our haunches and dozing till dusk…. Useless, we sit.”

This poetry is enough to make you almost want a dog or even perhaps to be a dog.
